Setting up PayPal Pro with SmartCart

SmartCart is proud to announce the full integration of the PayPal's all in one payment solution using PayPal's Express Checkout and Website Payments Pro.

SmartCart supports PayPal Website Payments Pro, PayPal Website Payments Standard, Express Checkout and PayFlow Pro.

With SmartCart and PayPal Express Checkout you can:

• Accept credit card payments without requiring a merchant account.
• Earn Yahoo Search Marketing credits to help increase your website traffic.
• Get PayPal's industry-leading security fraud-prevention systems.
• Take advantage of comprehensive PayPal's online reports that help you measure sales and manage your business easily.

Here's how to put SmartCart and Express Checkout to work for your business.

Step 1: Set Up a Verified PayPal Business Account

Customers who don't have an existing PayPal account:
1. Go to PayPal site.
2. Click Sign Up Today.
3. Set up an account for Business Owners.
4. Follow the instructions on the PayPal site.

Customers who already have a Personal or Premier account:

1. Go to PayPal site.
2. Click the Upgrade your Account link.
3. Click the Upgrade Now button.
4. Choose to upgrade to a Business account and follow instructions to complete the upgrade.
5. If you haven't already, add a bank account to become a Verified member. Follow the instructions on the PayPal site. This process may take 2-3 business days.

This step is only required for Website Payments Pro.
1. Go to https://www.paypal.com.
2. Click the Merchant Services tab.
3. Click Website Payments Pro (U.S. Only).
4. Click Sign Up Now.
5. Fill in your information, and submit your application. Approval takes between 24 and 48 hours.
6. Once approved, accept the Pro billing agreement. Check the Getting Started section on the upper left of your account overview page.

1. Log in to your PayPal account and click the Profile subtab.
2. Click the API Access link under the Account Information column.
3. Click the Request API Credential link.
4. Select the API Signature type of credential.
5. You are now provided 3 bits of information. api_username, api_password, and api_signature. You will need to turn the PayPal Pro module "on" and place these three values within their proper fields in your SmartCart Admin, under PayPal Pro.
